DARONG
DaRong is an artist who graduated in 2021 with a degree in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
After graduation, she worked at a pottery studio as an assistant and teaching assistant for over a year, discovering her passion for teaching. Since 2023, she has worked full-time as an event planner for the Humanities and Arts Foundation, conducting research on specific topics and inviting scholars to design courses and lectures.
She also assists in organizing art exhibitions and utilizes her international art education background to apply her knowledge in sculpture, art appreciation, and fluent English discussion and creation.
Kevin Kuo
Kevin Kuo, born in Los Angeles and raised in Taiwan, developed a passion for animation through classics like The Lion King and Toy Story.
With a strong English foundation from his teacher mother and architect father, he studied in the U.S. during high school and graduated from the California Institute of the Arts, specializing in animation production.
After military service in Taiwan, he began his animation career in the U.S., working at Studio B Films, Glu Mobile, and Allison + Partners, gaining two years of experience in animation design and video editing, paving the way for his creative journey.
Zhi-Wei Chen
Zhi-Wei Chen is an illustrator specializing in design and teaching, with extensive experience in creation and education.
His works have been featured in major exhibitions like the Taiwan Creative Expo and Taipei Illustration Fair, alongside solo exhibitions in 2016 and 2017.
Since 2016, he has won several illustration awards and lectured at events such as the Toyota Dream Car Art Camp.
Currently, he teaches at National Tsing Hua University's Extension Education Center, focusing on illustration.
A 2011 graduate of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Digital Media Design, he explores the fusion of illustration and digital media.
Shih-Fen
Shih-Fen Lin is an illustrator with a master's degree in illustration from the San Francisco Art Institute and a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from National Yang-Ming University.
Since 2012, he has worked as a freelance illustrator, with a diverse portfolio covering books, advertising, and brand design.
He has taught illustration at the Department of Arts and Design at National Tsing Hua University since 2015.
Lin has collaborated with notable brands like Learning A-Z and FliPER mag, and his work has been featured in international exhibitions, winning accolades.
His recent solo exhibition After We Started to Dream was held in 2024.
Wang Sih-Chi
Sih-Chi, Wang graduated from the Department of Fine Arts (Multimedia) at Taipei National University of the Arts and has extensive experience in art creation and exhibitions.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, including at Chiayi Railway Art Village, Taichung Dadu Cultural Center's "2024 New Voices in Art," and the university's graduation exhibition.
Skilled in charcoal, watercolor, and other mediums, she blends traditional and modern techniques in both her art and teaching.
With over two years of experience in children's art education, she also pursued psychology to explore the connection between art and the mind, helping students develop personal style and aesthetic abilities.
Zhe Ye
Zhe Ye, born in Taipei and raised between China and Taiwan, creates works using time-based media, blending sound, moving images, organic elements, and wooden objects to form immersive installation spaces.
His work explores how people from diverse backgrounds meet at specific moments in time and space, discussing the emotional value of such encounters.
In 2022, he earned a Master of Fine Arts from Tufts University. His works have been exhibited in solo and group shows, as well as screenings in the U.S. and China.
In 2023, he received the Space Justice Award from the New England Foundation for the Arts and the "Collective Futures" creation grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation.
Wei Luo
Wei Luo, born in Taipei, pursued his studies in fine arts at Otis/Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1984.
He was on the honor roll for two consecutive years and served as the student body president. In 1987, he was recommended as a private assistant to renowned sculptor Robert Graham.
After graduating in 1988, he further studied academic painting and color theory under Spanish master Sebastian Capella and later earned a permanent teaching credential from the California government in 2007.
Wei Luo has taught at Chouinard School of Art, Glendale City Brand Library, and the Alhambra School District, and served as the director of the West Covina Art Center (1999-2015).
His contributions to art education were featured in the Los Angeles Times, and he was interviewed by Chinese media outlet Radio 1300.
He has held numerous exhibitions and art lectures, served as a juror for the San Gabriel Art Association Annual Exhibition (2007), and was invited to speak at the Centennial Chinese Art Exhibition in the U.S. (2011).
In Taipei, he was interviewed on Art Dreamer by CTS and Good News Radio (2013).
He held an exhibition at Jiuding Gallery, donating auctioned artworks to charity (2012), and was invited to deliver an art appreciation lecture at Palais de Chine Rotary Club (2013).
Jun-Wei, Fang
Jun-Wei, Fang is an experienced educator specializing in digital creation and maker education.
He currently serves as the Head of the Information Technology Department at New Taipei Municipal Fuying Junior High School and actively teaches at various maker centers and educational institutions.
With extensive teaching experience, his courses cover 3D modeling, 3D printing, AR/VR technology, IoT applications, and AIGC applications.
He is also a gold medal-winning coach in the National Skills Competition for 3D Digital Game Art, dedicated to fostering students' digital innovation skills and advancing technology education.
Eric Chen
Eric Chen is a designer with expertise in both UI/UX and graphic design, bringing years of freelance experience across product, branding, and digital storytelling.
Their work spans fintech, e-commerce, and startups, with a strong focus on crafting intuitive experiences and visually impactful solutions.
As a freelance designer and design mentor, Eric Chen helps students build structured, story-driven portfolios that reflect both strategy and creativity. Their course emphasizes design thinking, tool mastery, and real-world applications—empowering students to create compelling portfolios for school or career opportunities.
Chi-Ming, Yeh
Chi-Ming, Yeh, brings rich experience from both industry and education.
Formerly part of the R&D team at Rinnai Taiwan, he has also taught creative and support courses for the Ministry of Labor and Tung-An Junior High School, with a long-term focus on hands-on maker education for youth.
His expertise spans 3D printing, reverse engineering, digital drafting, and mixed-media craftsmanship—especially using mold-making materials like plaster, silicone, and resin. He guides students from concept development to finished products.
Chi-Ming holds multiple professional certifications, including in computer-aided drafting, architectural coating, 3D printing, and generative AI.
He is currently launching Mengdong Creative Studio, a space that fuses digital technology with art. The studio promotes hands-on practice, problem-solving, and innovative thinking to empower students to turn ideas into real-world creations.
Dan Chen
Dan Chen has extensive teaching experience with students ranging from children to adults, offering courses in oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, and various media.
She has successfully guided students into local art programs and prestigious international schools such as UAL (UK), University of Melbourne (Australia), and Parsons, Pratt (US).
Her teaching emphasizes conceptual growth and creative thinking, encouraging students to develop personal aesthetics and their own artistic voice.
Derek Matthew Auxier Black
Professor Derek Matthew Auxier Black, M.F.A.
Derek is a creative, educator, and researcher. Mr. Black has been a design educator for over 13 years focusing on typographic research and application.
He has taught typeface design, typography, graphic design, interactive design, advertising, illustration, game design, foundation arts, and general design educational courses at SCAD (e-learning, Savannah, Hong Kong) and other institutions. He developed several online courses of study including the undergraduate Typeface Design course, demonstrating the strength and efficiency of teaching macro/micro typography.
Between 2013 and 2015 he served as the academic coordinator for the School of Communications (illustration, graphic design, sequential art, and advertising), served as the Associate Dean of Academics for SCAD Hong Kong from 2015-2019 and is now advancing his typographic research, education, and consultation.
Jiahua Yang
Yang has participated in numerous large-scale development projects in Taiwan, including factories, office campuses, and sports park master planning. Currently a designer at J.J. Pan and Partners, Yang is experienced in the full spectrum of project delivery—from planning and design to on-site implementation—possessing comprehensive expertise in design integration and practical execution.
Beyond professional practice, Yang’s creative pursuits span interior design, public art, architectural illustration, and metaverse spatial design. His works demonstrate a broad and international perspective, earning recognition in both domestic and international competitions. Through a cross-disciplinary approach, he continues to connect space and culture, exploring the diverse media and narrative possibilities within design.
Yang is well-versed in architectural theory and design thinking, with exceptional skills in digital modeling and rendering. In teaching, he emphasizes narrative logic and spatial expression, encouraging students to draw inspiration from observation and imagination in daily life. Through a balanced training of conceptual thinking and hands-on practice, Yang guides students to develop independent thought and authentic self-expression—so that each work reveals a genuine and powerful personal perspective.
WHEREISCHAPPIE (LIU Tung-Yu)
WHEREISCHAPPIE (LIU Tung-Yu) is an audiovisual artist and project manager whose practice spans street dance, performing arts, and media arts. Working across creation, production, and system design, he moves between these fields through multiple intersecting roles. His work focuses on the real-time generation of sound and algorithmic visuals, treating code and self-built interfaces as performative materials. Through structured improvisation, he constructs dynamic audiovisual systems operating between control and randomness. His works reflect observations of subcultural environments alongside a sense of childlike playfulness. His performances have been presented at digital art festivals and experimental sound scenes. He currently serves as Executive Director of the audiovisual group Fluid Noise and as Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of New Media Art at Taipei National University of the Arts.
Laurent Hsia
Laurent Hsia is an artist, biologist, and educator based in Taipei and New York. His artistic practice grows from the disparate identities that arose from his third culture and cross-disciplinary backgrounds and explores the concept of “mending”. With analog still photography as the primary medium, his practice also includes writings, moving images, found objects, as well as biological/chemical inquiries and techniques.
He graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in biochemistry & molecular biology and is the founder of Petrichor, an transdisciplinary experimental studio based in Taipei, Taiwan.
