《Field of Dreams》 | A Solo Exhibition by Conan Chen

~ A good plan now is better than a perfect plan that has yet to happen. ~

Some dreams don’t simply come true—they take shape through every decision to begin.

Conan’s practice spans digital art, drawing, architecture, sculpture, and derivative works, alongside personal collections, childhood memories, and video documentation. The exhibition brings these works together through eight themes—Beginning, Traces, What We Love, Space, Form, Virtuality, Extension, and Looking Back. Starting from memories and the things he loves, Conan develops his own artistic language through observation, drawing, exploration, and making.

“I wish I could capture the places I see through my drawings…”

—this sharing session might be for you.

We’ve seen famous masterpieces countless times in books and on screens. But standing in front of the real work, experiencing its scale, brushstrokes, texture, and light firsthand, you begin to understand that some things can only be felt in person.

This is a solo journey across Europe, traveling through Prague, Vienna, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and beyond.

This isn’t a travel guide about checking off famous sights. Instead, it’s a creative sharing session combining an artist talk with an on-site sketching experience, exploring the real details of making art while traveling:

The awe of standing before a masterpiece,
how to observe artworks inside a museum,
what sketching is really like on location,
the joy of slowing down and walking through a city,
losing all sense of reason in an art supply store,
and, of course, the travel mistakes and lessons learned along the way…

This time, Dan Chen will take us through a journey across multiple European cities, sharing how he observes, chooses what to capture, and turns moments from his travels into creative experiences.

Alongside the talk, participants will also take part in an on-site sketching session, experiencing firsthand the joy of recording a journey through drawing.

Whether you’re interested in sketching, solo travel in Europe, or artistic creation, come join us for a conversation, a few drawings, and a glimpse into the artist’s journey.
