🌿 Parent Testimonial | Watching a Child Grow Through Art
Art is no longer just about completing assignments—it has become a way for our student to share ideas, thoughts, and feelings.
From quiet drawings to meaningful creations with a voice of their own.
Receiving this feedback from a parent truly touched us.
At Art Floor, our teachers don't simply teach techniques. We spend time discussing each student's ideas, respecting every creative choice, and gently guiding them throughout the process. We believe art isn't something that is simply taught—it's something that grows together.
The parent also shared that exploring a variety of art materials has inspired their child with new creative ideas and encouraged them to experiment and express themselves more confidently.
From hesitation and uncertainty,
to choosing colors with confidence,
making their own creative decisions,
and even saying,
"I want to do it this way because I think..."
These small moments are powerful reminders that real growth is happening through the creative process.
Thank you to the parent for your trust and thoughtful observations.
They remind us that the true value of art education goes far beyond developing technical skills—it is about helping children understand themselves, trust their own ideas, and discover their unique voice through art.

🎲 Portfolio Spotlight|From a High School Idea to a Global Product: Orbio by Fei Feng
At Art Floor, we believe that a strong portfolio is not about making the "perfect" project—it's about demonstrating a unique perspective on solving problems.
Before our upcoming college admissions and portfolio sharing session, we're excited to showcase one of Fei Feng's signature portfolio projects: Orbio, a dynamic strategy board game that successfully raised over USD $12,000 on Kickstarter.
Discover how a simple observation from high school evolved into a portfolio piece that helped open the doors to top design schools.
🌀 Where It All Began
Designed for connection and enhanced three-dimensional thinking.
While in high school, Fei noticed that most board games relied on movement across a flat, two-dimensional surface, often leading to repetitive interactions.
Inspired by the geometric beauty of molecular structures, she set out to design a game that encourages spatial reasoning while creating more engaging face-to-face interaction.
Through countless sketches, clay prototypes, and 3D-printed iterations, she developed Orbio's signature three-legged game piece, carefully refining its balance, mechanics, and tactile feedback until every movement felt intuitive and satisfying.
🕹️ Gameplay Highlights
Pivot & Strike
Rotate around one sphere as a pivot to launch precise attacks using leverage and momentum.
Domino Action
Master the angle and force to trigger chain reactions that can completely reshape the game board.
Cards with a Twist
Draw special action cards from activation zones to freeze opponents, reverse chain reactions, and introduce unexpected strategic turns.
💡 Beyond the Final Product
What makes Orbio a compelling portfolio project isn't simply that it became a successful product.
It demonstrates an entire design process—from identifying a problem, conducting research, prototyping, material exploration, user testing, branding, manufacturing, and eventually launching a product to an international audience.
This is exactly what leading art and design schools are looking for: designers who transform curiosity into meaningful, real-world solutions through thoughtful iteration.
Curious how Fei built a portfolio that stood out in the admissions process? Join us at our upcoming sharing session to learn about her creative journey and application strategy.

🎓 Admissions Sharing Session | From Aspiration to Admission: A Roadmap to Your Dream School
How does a high school student passionate about design take step by step toward their dream school and gain admission to the Design program at Carnegie Mellon University?
Art Floor is pleased to invite Fei Feng, a recent admit to the Design program at Carnegie Mellon University, to share her journey—from portfolio development to the full college application process—along with her most authentic insights, challenges, and reflections.
During the application process, her biggest realization was:
“Top design schools in the U.S. care not only about grades, but also about your creative thinking, design process, and the meaning behind your work.”
Fei’s portfolio spans product design, branding, entrepreneurship projects, and socially driven design. She has developed a successfully funded board game project, participated in patented product development, and engaged in design competitions and community initiatives—using design to respond to real-world needs and problems.
Her portfolio was also the most challenging and important part of her application journey.
From concept ideation, research and analysis, prototyping, testing, and iteration to final presentation, each project required significant time and effort. She gradually realized that what matters most is not only the final outcome, but how clearly you communicate your thinking process and the intentions behind your decisions.
✨ What You Will Learn in This Session
• What top U.S. design schools are really looking for
• How to plan and build a competitive portfolio
• Practical experience in essay and application preparation
✨ Advice from Fei
• Start building and exploring early
• Stay curious and explore different directions
• Focus on developing projects you are truly passionate about
• Plan ahead to manage your timeline effectively
A strong portfolio is never just a collection of works—it is a journey of observation, exploration, thinking, and growth. It is also the most important way for admissions officers to understand how you see the world.
If you are interested in product design, innovation and entrepreneurship, design education, or applying to art and design universities in the U.S., this is a session you won’t want to miss.

🎞️ Process Behind the Exhibition 《向內的樓 rooms within》| Chen Dan & Lee Chia-Jui Dual Exhibition
Some emotions are not formed suddenly,
but slowly take shape through repetition, erasure, and stillness.
In rooms within, spaces, animals, and cracks become an emotional diary that cannot be fully explained. Two artists repeatedly construct the gap between dreams and reality, depicting inner states suspended—neither rising nor falling.
We invite you to step into fragments that are still forming.
🎬 Exhibition Info
📅 Duration: 05.31 — 06.21, 2026
📍 Venue: Art Floor 藝樓
In the basement, somewhere between dreams and reality, we await your arrival.
